The Greatest Salesman in the World
In college, my professor asked us to read the last half of The Greatest Salesman in the World. I ended up going back to read the first half of the book and enjoyed the story.
You should be able to find a free online version of the book as a PDF or audiobook with a quick Google search.
The book has two sections.
- The first part tells a story of how a man was entrusted with a chest which contains ten scrolls.
- The second section shares what is written on each scroll.
For one month, the first scroll is meant to be read once silently in the morning and once out loud at the end of the day.
The next month the second scroll should be read until they have all been read.
- Today I begin a new life
- I will greet this day with love in my heart
- I will persist until I succeed
- I am nature’s greatest miracle
- I will live this day as if it is my last
- Today I will be master of my emotions
- I will laugh at the world
- Today I will multiply my value a hundredfold
- I will act now
- I will pray for guidance
I read straight through all of the scrolls but can see how beneficial it would be to memorize them. I believe the secret of becoming the greatest salesman is to begin living today as if I already am and asking for help from God and other people.
