Why Photograph Fire Hydrants?
It all starts with my dad. When I was younger he pointed out a fire hydrant to me. He asked me to take a picture of it and he shared how he thought they look like people with distinct personalities. I didn’t think much of it at the time. Honestly I thought it was a weird request.
Over the years they have grown on me. I notice them everywhere I go. Every picture I take is a gift intended for my dad. He is the inspiration and heart behind my love of fire hydrants!
How It Has Evolved
In August 2016, I created an instagram account to feature all the fire hydrants I’ve found. Then I give them each a name. To keep up with the names of each hydrant I highly recommend you follow my Instagram account: Official Fire Hydrants.
They each have a personality that is expressed through their name and surroundings.
