Jones Family Session at the Mall
On a recent trip to Washington, Jeremiah and I spent the afternoon at the Alderwood Mall with Todd Jones and his family. There is something so special about the love between their three daughters. The story of our friendship began before any children were in the picture.
Mustaches and Blind Dates
My friendship with the Jones family is quite unique. It all started back when I was in high school. I liked Jeremiah, my hilarious husband today, since my Sophomore year (I was shy at the time and never would have told him that but that is a story for another day). We were friends early on in high school and he invited me to youth group. That was the first best yes I have ever said to him. The one and only Todd Jones, founder of Stoked on Youth Ministry, was our youth pastor.
From the moment I met Todd I knew he would be best friends with my oldest brother, Andre. The logical thing to do was set them up on a blind date. I told Andre to look for the man with the awesome mustache! Todd had a full on handle bar mustache – hard to miss. They have been friends ever since.
Uncle Jeremiah and Auntie Tina
Todd and his wife Rachael chaperoned our high school dances, we held their newborn twins, Todd baptized Jeremiah and I on July 21, 2013, and he flew down from Washington to marry us. The Jones family has become like family to Jeremiah and me. They even call us Uncle Jeremiah and Auntie Tina!
Down below is a photo of Uncle Jeremiah. It reveals the secret to why kids always listen to him.
Never a dull moment with these three. Funny faces, singing, dancing – they do it all.
