Rya + Arlo | Seattle, WA

There is no Place like Home

Sometimes the most adventurous place to take photos is in your own backyard. In this backyard family session, we explored all that a backyard has to offer. We ate homegrown strawberries, played with the dog and played soccer.

The Funny Thing about Plans is that Plans Change

Plans have the tendency to change. The plan was made to take photos of Rya and Arlo. Then the question of location was begun. Many beautiful locations surrounded us that day. As time continued to pass the most practical option quickly became the backyard. It could not have worked out more perfectly.

For example, Rya showed me the garden they are growing as a family. Their backyard teaches the kids gardening skills which will open up the magical possibilities of growing their own garden in the future. In addition, Arlo demonstrated his soccer skills while Rya did cartwheels. I will be honest here about the fact that I have never performed a single cartwheel in my life. I have always been more comfortable with sports so I gladly played soccer that day. Also, the dog was incorporated to give an additional personal touch to the backyard family photo session.
